Duimon - HSM Mega Bezel Graphics and Presets - Feedback and Updates

Welcome. Check out the [Cropping Core Image] settings.

Go to Quick Menu > Shaders > Shader Parameters > [Cropping Core Image]. Change Crop Mode to 1.00 and then change Crop Zoom % until the black bars are gone.

It is also possible just to change Crop Left%, Right%, Top%, and Bottom% to get rid of the black bars.

In @hgoda90’s first example you may have some success getting it to automattically adjust for all the games. (At least that is the intention.)

The…

Black Threshold for 'CROP BLACK ONLY'

…parameter is helpful in getting it to distinguish the different games. Try a few different amounts and see what you can get done.

I have always had better luck doing it manually for each game. (The second example.)

As @duimon stated the second example would be the best way to go. I tried the first example in Ocarina of Time, when I would get the black borders at top and bottom, Z-Targeting, it would act weird.

The diagnostics option is good in order to keep the correct aspect ratio (1.33) while removing black. In my experience, N64 cores are some of the few that require fiddling with the cropping. Some games just don’t care about black bars (at least for 1 axis) so you sometimes have to deal with some black bars to keep the correct aspect ratio.

thank you very much it works!!! I was already able to accommodate the 60% margin of my N64 games!! do you have a discord group? It would be easier for me to talk about it if I have questions about how to add designs for arcade games etc.

In RetroArch can you play Mario Kart GP Arcade 1 & 2, using the Dolphin emulator?

Nope. It requires a special build of Dolphin.

Here is a new WIP.

The Acorn Atom!

The logo is shortened to just “ATOM” for the Bezel presets. I have the full logo in reserve.

It just so happens that the Sanyo VM 4209 was one of the monitors commonly used with this system.

So we have that to look forward to.

I have seen the 4209 for sale and referred to as a “Green” monitor. I may have to do some adjusting to my Apple II presets. (After doing a little more research.)

Just so you know… there is some detail work to be done yet, this is just a WIP. (But it is close.)

Hello @Duimon! Could you implement the new Hyllian’s CRT shader on your project?

Look that: https://pt-br.imgbb.com/ https://imgbox.com/gallery/edit/hEyKHRdaMc/ViLwLKPFEMamjTwu?# https://imgbox.com/gallery/edit/nqcWq9MDzx/pKjdLHQVkeC8IESf https://imgbox.com/gallery/edit/Jn6BITG5y8/nr8rPCXfIeUaOgwC

You could do using my overlays, but integrating the shader in the Mega Bezel is something @HyperspaceMadness would have to do.

I like it too, but I think similar results can be achieved using the built-in Guest and other features.

We’ll see what HSM thinks.

@Duimon DOSBOX Pure was updated to version 0.9.5, which is able to run Windows 95/98, have you thought in making some late 90’s monitor bezel? Or you don’t have plans to do something like that?

i have nothing against it.

The Acorn Atom is in the repo.

Some shots.

Not a lot of games for this system but I’m sure compatibility will improve.

I’m doing the Acorn Electron next and there are a great many games for that one.

The new Mega Bezel update will allow me to do some new things with the night mode. Specifically I can use a night background and adjust the Ambient Lighting Layer separately.

Here is a possible example.

Old…

New…

I’ll have to play with it a bit, experiment with the new Add mode, and maybe render a couple new Night images.

Exciting stuff!
