Duimon - HSM Mega Bezel Graphics and Presets - Feedback and Updates

sryu but what’s HSV? and witch new version?

HSV is Hue Saturation and Value/Brightness. In other words you can change the color. The new version is the alpha GitHub version that requires a nightly build of Retroarch.

The shader will be released when the next version of Retroarch goes final.

Hey all! I thought I’d try to tick this box before I committed my new Atari stuff!

The Atari Jaguar!

And for you minimalists…

… an alternate.

This one was weird! :grimacing:

I couldn’t find a decent image source to save my life, but as it happens, Atari sold their mold to a dentistry company, and I found a decent source for that product.

That is definitely a first for this project. :astonished:

It’s not perfect, :upside_down_face: and I took a lot of liberties. The venting diverges quite a bit. I did a more accurate version of it, and really didn’t like the way it balanced, so I took some artistic license. In the end, optical illusions make it feel accurate anyway.

I personally think it’s nicer that what is in the wild right now! :innocent: I hope you all agree.

@HyperspaceMadness

Apparently, now that I’ve tried a few Jaguar games, the negative cropping will definitely be missed. The games are pretty random the way they are placed on the screen, a lot like the Amiga.

Just FYI for anyone who might be following along, In the Alpha shader It was removed because it had a BIG performance impact. I do agree that the negative cropping was a nice feature, maybe we can find a way to add it back in the future.

Hmm, do you have some examples of snapshots of core images I could see to see what are the kind of situations which might happen?

Or maybe before and after snapshots in the released mega bezel where you would be using the negative cropping?

Sure!

before…

…after.

before…

before…

Most are pretty small changes but, as you can see in the third example, some can be pretty extreme. I have found that the Amiga can be just as (Or more.) drastic.

…after.

I did an OCD pass on the Jaguar, some more work on the venting. One of the problems is that a LOT of images on the interwebs are of the Jaguar Mini, which has non-functioning decorative venting.

any way…

In my opinion, any system capable of playing the standard version of Rayman, was a decent system. It is too bad Atari had to come by such hard times. (And not entirely of there own making.)

Arcade games like “San Francisco Rush 2049” make me wonder what the world would be like if Atari had been around to compete in future console wars.

The New Atari’s are in the repo, along with RA Overlays, hybrids, and presets.

Enjoy!

This brings the count of cores/systems completed up to 51! :star_struck:

Next on the list are some handhelds, then I may do a couple of MAME Software lists before I return to the obscure systems.

(The list is getting shorter.)

Ok, Unless I’m misunderstanding, if you are just trying to crop off the black space at the edges this is supported by the standard cropping.

Only the negative cropping has been removed, so for instance if you wanted to add more black to the edges than was there originally this facility has been removed.

Wow! this is pretty awesome! :exploding_head: Thanks @Duimon for your efforts to make these high quality graphics available, and especially with source files!!!

It appears I was the one misunderstanding my friend.

So, you can increase cropping but can’t do negative? (I thought they were an AIO package.) All is good in my world.

OK… Here’s a new one.

The SEGA Game Gear!!

I took many liberties with the design, to make the screen larger and show more details in the viewport.

There were a few different models made, I chose one with an LED.

I like this system! The games ported to it are tailored and unique. A lot like the GBC!

Either the Neo Geo Pockets or WonderSwan pair. I haven’t decided yet.

(Actually, I think I may skip ahead to a MAME Software list, just to keep things interesting. :innocent:)

Here’s a quick new one!

The vtech V.Smile MAME Software List!

This is a vector conversion of my existing raster graphic for this system. (It’s actually a fairly good representation. :innocent:)

I may spend a bit more time on this.

The gem-like buttons across the bottom are pretty cool. I think they would add quite a bit of visual interest. (Although recreating the whole unit would make the screen too small.)
