Nope, not a problem. (That’s why I include the source, it is free to use without mention.)

Actually, one of the “advanced features” that I said had to wait, (In the release post.) was the background on a separate layer. Another is the ability to change the color of the cabinet using shader parameters. (I showed an example of it when I debut the Naomi WIP.)

I can confirm that I will be doing a Super Grafx graphic.

Well damn, ain’t that a throwback

First console I ever owned, I remember many of the games being half decent (as far as kids games are concerned).

I had both the VSmile itself and the Pocket.

also, on the pocket, the side buttons could “flip”, kinda similar to the controller for the home console version. Flipping a switch on the back would enable you to flip around the enter button and dpad. Each button was a sphere basically, one side had dpad and the other had enter.

It was actually pretty cool for the time, I can’t think of another system to do that.

The flip side was orange with blue white text I believe.

Might be a cool thing to include in the shader if you decide to make it

Here’s a real WIP shot of my progress on the V.Smile Pocket.

The gem-like buttons were fun!

Here’s another peak at my progress. :innocent:

This is turning out to be one of the toughest graphics I have done yet. (Part of me wonders why I couldn’t leave it well enough alone.)

It is coming along just fine, with plenty of room to satisfy my need for OCD passes.

One of my design choices makes it a little bottom heavy. Still not sure I will do anything about it. (Although if I don’t, my OCD may not let me sleep at night. :upside_down_face:)

Things always look better as details are added, we’ll see how I feel later on in the process.

I think it’s pretty close!

I’m fairly happy with it, though I think there’s room for a good and thorough OCD pass. :innocent:

I also think this proves it is a worthy effort to make use of some MAME Software List machines, to fill some holes in the RA cores.

Are any VSmile games actually playable through Mame? last time I checked the system was supported but no games were known to run.

I’m playing one in the screenshot. (Alphabet Park Adventure (US))I have 19 US roms that work and there are many working titles in other languages. It seems they add more with every MAME update.

The creation date on my raster graphic is 2019/03/10 and all 19 games worked at that time.

Away for real life stuff for a bit and came back to some really nice updates! Thank you for the Neo CD, Atari and Game Gear overlays; they look great!

I took a deep OCD dive into this.

I tweaked the main body highlights and shadows, did some fine detail highlights and shadows etc. on the edges of the body trim, and cleaned up the source a LOT.

Most of the real OCD work was on the d-pad and enter buttons… they are supposed to be shiny plastic and were very flat. They are flat no longer. (I spent a LOT of time on them and made many changes.)

I am extremely happy with the result.

Hey! @lilbud

With the next version of the shader the controls will be on separate layers, one for the blue and another for the orange. So they can be swapped using parameters.

Hey! At the request of @RetroFanZ I have started a new project. It will be a collection of cartridges for all cart based systems. (Actually he only requested two carts, I expanded the scope.)

Here is the SNES SGB graphic.

I will be going at this slowly because they take as much time and effort as a console graphic and this project has priority. I have started a Launchbox forum thread pointing to my new repo and showing off some of my other works, along with HSM’s awesome shader.

The cartridge can be found in a new “Front-End-Assets” repo on my GitHub. I will be doing a Game Boy next to occupy the top slot. The final assembled PS template will have a smart object that, combined with an included PS script, can be pointed at a collection of images to create output for any number of games. Instructions for the script are also include.

Very cool! Launchbox is my favorite front end

Excellent graphic for the cartridge too! :star_struck:

Big Box is very cool. Down the road I plan on creating a Kodi theme for Big Box to emulate my favorite Kodi skin, Aeon MQ7. (Maybe Aeon MQ9 if it ever gets completed.)
