although the tutorial on the site is great it can be quite daunting for some users to open up the Terminal in OSX.
Perhaps this program could help those who want an easier way to make a bootable USB stick (especially for those Mac users with a Raspberry Pi).

But I think it can be quite confusing to tell people to use this tool. Because it is made for RPi in mind. Even if it can work for other boards, the NOOBS software integration in their UI is a little bit confusing.
We could switch to a similar tool, if we find a more generic tool. However, the use of the terminal ensures that the user will get a proper error message if a problem happens, and an easy to paste error message. Also, it avoids to setup an external software, things that some users dislike.
