Error loading shader presets

Hi all, new to the forum and world of RetroArch even though I spent a few weeks now playing around in the system.

Im running RA 1.7.3 and loaded like 10 different cores and games through LaunchBox using RA cores. Now I downloaded overlays from Orions Angel and set individual core saves to keep different looks for different consoles. Adjusted the video settings to make it fit neat into the overlay.

Now to my troubles… I would love to get a shader going to each config file per console like I did with overlays using a curved shader to not have the squares overlapping in the nice TV screen of the overlay (if that makes sence?)

First problem… Is there a shader like that? Orions Angel recommended one with his overlays which I have and tried to load in the quick menu just like with overlays. On every 10 cores with each a seperate config file I get an error loading shader message on bottom of screen in RA. There is no problem with the overlays loading and saving per core.

Anybody have some idea why shaders keep failing on every attempt?

Are you loading Cg shaders? They don’t always work with all cores. Use GLSL shaders instead.

Other than that, you can post a log of you trying and failing to load a shader and I can take a look.

Hi thanks for answering! Yes I believe Orions Angel recommended a shader called gs-geom-crt or something like that and it failed to load on all cores. Then I did try a random other shader and my core and my screen went all black and stayed like that everytime after so I had to erase something directly in the config file.

How would I go about it to post you guys a log file?

And seeing Im suppose to use LaunchBox with RetroArch on an external drive plugging it into my Intel NUC in the living room. I think it has Intel HD4000 graphic card or something, though 16Gb of RAM and an m2 flash drive. What kind of shaders would be recommended for that curved border task? Like hidding the squares inside the overlay TV screen.

Also I not that into everything being super nostalgic in terms of looks on the flat screen TV but more to optimize quality a bit without my Intel NUC struggling of course. TV at the moment is an old flat screen plasma 50 inches but will be looking to buy a new soon about 75 inches. My old is “HD ready” means it can show 1080i but mainly supports 720p.

Sorry for long posts but now you get the full picture

Ahh, my answer is waiting to be approved by admins so I can’t edit it.

But Intel NUC doesn’t have Intel HD 4000 so scratch that.

These are the NUC specs:
