FB Alpha 0.2.97.39 Release

Hi, in fba-libretro, FBA Alpha was updated to the new version 0.2.97.39, but Lakka’s dat file (FB Alpha - Arcade Games.dat) it is still for 0.2.97.38:

clrmamepro ( name “FB Alpha - Arcade Games” name “FB Alpha v0.2.97.38 Arcade Games” version 0.2.97.38 )

According to the FBA Alpha website, the release notes says it “sync. romsets with MAME 0.175 [Barry]”.

If I already have the No-Intro collection roms 0.2.97.38, do I need to reprocess it to use it with the new 0.2.97.39? How?

Is it possible to go back to the FBA Alpha 0.2.97.38 core?

I’ll appreciate your help, thanks!

depends on how you are loading your roms(and if you have the updated samples to update .38 to .39… if you play using Load core and detect content method, then its better to sync roms in order to play CPS2 roms and newer stuffs(cps3 some cave/pgm sets)… but if you rely mostly using Import content and use the playlist, better wait for RA to update their dat file or else you will not see all roms, i do have complete 2.97.39 sets and its been awhile that i requested the dat file be updated also since the core(x64) was already updated to 2.97.39 and i play mostly from playlist.

I have been working on a GUI-based playlist generator for MAME and FB Alpha. If you’re wanting to generate a playlist from a set of FB Alpha 0.2.97.39 ROMs, this tool ought to do the trick: https://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7802

If that is indeed helpful, feel free to post in this thread or that one if I can help make sure the settings are right to deploy the playlist to Lakka. (It would be similar to the MAME 2003 example already included in that thread, although I would suggest not bothering to process thumbnails)

Hi guys, thanks for your answers. Up to now I only used the integrated playlist generator. I will take a look to the tool, thanks!

I hope also that the .dat file can be updated soon.
