Game Boy Shader appears broken in RetroArch 1.3

When I try to apply the Game Boy shader I get this:http://i.imgur.com/tmke4Uf.png?1

I’ve messed around with the setting, I’ve tried replacing all the files with the ones that came with 1.2 but nothing seems to work. The GLSL version turns up a black screen.

Which platform? For the GLSL version, have you tried the one in the hunterk/handheld directory?

OS X The one in the hunterk directory did the trick though, I wasn’t aware that it existed. Thanks.

Same problem here on win7 x64 with the cgp in handheld/console-border, or my own files. That’s with the game boy / pocket shader, no problem with those based on lcd-cgwg.

No idea what’s causing that. (I’ve been on an october nighlty until now)

I’m not having any trouble with the Cg version in Linux. I’ll try it in Windows tomorrow to see if I can reproduce the issue.

Another issue with 1.3 while we’re on the subject, it seems to have broken blur_horiz.cg and blur_vert.cg I use these two shaders in my analog pack and it made the component setting really, really blurry. I was able to fix it by adjusting the parameters file and raising the value but just an FYI for any other .cgp’s relying on these.

On my analog pack i’ll try and get an updated fix tonight.

hold off on doing too much. Any changes to the shader backend were unintentional and we’ll try to get things working how they were before.

If anyone can bisect and find out exactly when the breakage happened, that will help us nail the issue down. It seems the gameboy shader (and crt-hyllian-glow, probably others) started having issues here:

solid12345, can you see if that’s when your pack broke, as well?

should be fixed by now

The last stable version which I believe was January 17th broke it. However I just tried the latest nightly 2016-01-21_Retroarch and everything seems to be resolved.

Thanks for the fix.

What Fix? Is there a new version on main page or do we grab the beta versions.

Grab the latest nightly build from the buildbot. We’ll be pushing out a 1.3.1 build soon but that will get you fixed up in the meantime.
