Good video card for dolphin

Hello,

i’m building a lakka device, manny parts are on the cheap but i want to run the dolphin emulator with a good quality and respons time.

On this moment i have this parts

The only thing i do not have is the GPU, i want a cheap but good GPU. I know i need opengl. I want to play all the cors on good settings but dolphin is the main reasen for the build.

Who can me point in the right direction? I live in belgium.

Any mid-range GPU should be fine. Geforce 1050 or above should be okay. However, the dolphin-libretro core is still currently very much a work in progress and it’s probably not a good idea to be building a machine around it at this point.

If you are to buy a video card to play Dolphin, forget it and buy a used Wii. Its cheaper, fully compatible.

yes i know, i want to use the dolphin core for the wii and the gamecube games from the old days. but my brother wants to play arcade games. For me it is the dolphin core but my brother wants to play a lot of the other cors. I think dolphin is the most demaning of the cores

OK, in all honesty, and I can speak to this, go get a cheap, used Alienware Alpha and forget it. Hell, the i3 one can do the Dolphin core quite easily and run any arcade game you throw at it. They run around $250 on Craig’s List and you get a fully functioning PC with Windows 10 in most cases (hell, at that rate, you could just full-on Retroarch, have ALL the cores, and yes, ALL the cores, and call it a day).

By the way, I second the Wii purchase. They’re cheap as dirt. You can softmod them in 5 minutes. You can even run RA on them. I don’t see a downside if you’re looking specifically for Gamecube/Wii. This coming from a Nintendo fan, too.
