Guide to Playlists

I have been trying my best to sort thru all the forums and piece together the instructions on how to get this new version to work, but I’m lost and I’m hoping someone can sum it up.

The Nintendo rooms get recognized - but nothing else (PSX, FBA, etc).

So, I believe the rule is to manually go thru and create playlists by running scripts, but I can’t seem to confirm or locate all the scripts that people are using to get that done. Many of the threads seem to end with someone indicating that something wasn’t working.

I am sure that all the instructions are here but for some reason I can’t find them all to understand how to get the new versions working.

( I miss the simplicity of Lakka “just working” and not loving the database scanning TBH )

It’s an unfinished feature. You can keep using an older, stable version that doesn’t have it or you can use it in the current, unfinished state.

Scanning for disc-based systems is currently being worked on but I don’t think arcade scanning is being tackled just yet.

Hi asymptote, in the latest nightly, I added PS1 and PSP scanning.

This feature is really unfinished. When it is mature, there will be a one time scanning that works for all systems.

great. I’ll check it out.

I wasn’t complaining about an unfinished feature per se. I understand that. I was just trying to piece together the playlist instructions - but I suppose I’ll just wait.

Arcade roms are a special case, because they are launched zipped by the core, and the zip contains a lot of files. CDs are another special case, because the files are too big to perform a checksum, so we need to extract a serial. All other roms should be detected easily.
