Hello all and (another) newbie question

Hello to all the community, i’m new here and i casually found this great project. I own an Odroid XU4 and i’m really interested in transform it in a retro consolle  however reading faq and infos i noticed i need to put ROM files inside the ROMS folder that will be created in eMMC. problem is i “only” have a 8gb eMMC installed in my Odroid and it cerainly will not accomodate all roms… so the newbie question: is it possible to relocate the ROMS folder on the micro sd? i could use a bigger sd then. i searched here in the forum but actually i wasn’t able to find anything useful :frowning:

thanks in advance Juri

Hello Yurif74, yes, you can.

The micro SD partitions should be automatically mounted in your ROM folder anyway.

Tell us if you encounter problems doing so.

thanks, i’m not so good with linux, infact i have android installed on eMMC, however if i insert an sdcard with roms files inside they will be automatically mounted in the rom folder? that’s great. is there any particular format to be used with sdcard? fat,fat32,ntfs? thanks

Any of fat32, ntfs, or ext2/3/4 should work.

hello again, i finally installed Lakka on my odroid ux4. installation progress ran flawlessly however i have some problem… actually i can navigate the menu using a wireless keyboard since i was not be able to navigate it with my original PS3 controller. i tried in all 3 usb ports without any success, pressing both l3+r3 or central button have no effect. i have 4 led blinking on the controller and i’m using the original usb cable included in my ps3 if i turn off my odroid or detach the controller my ps3 start! what’s wrong?

i also loaded a micro sd card (8 gb for testing) with all pc engine roms (goodpce 1.09) but nothing show on menu, i loaded the card with uncomppressed roms (in .pce format)…

tested 2048 game it work (with keyboard ofcourse) but i get no sound (maybe the game itself do not have sound, i do not know)

any suggestions please? thanks

Juri

You have to push the PS button (central button) once and it should start working.

Did you get the Autoconfig Profiles (Retroarch Menu > Online Updater > Update Autoconfig Profiles) ?

At least your controller is recognized when you try to bind it ? You need to go to menu Settings > Input > Input User 1 Binds > User 1 Bind All

For the audio, can you try to type this command :

aplay -l

and

cat /proc/asound/cards

Can you check that the directory (Menu Settings > Directory > Input Device Autoconfig Dir) contains the autoconfig profiles ?

And what is the output of lsusb when your controller is plugged ?

Everything is fine with the configuration, strange it doesn’t recognize your controller…
