So here is my problem and I have tried EVERYTHING. i have a laptop with HDMI out, but a TV with only RCA inputs. I have been able to get the output to the TV, but its only black and white. I was able to get this same converter to work with my Windows laptop on the same TV. What settings can I try?
I use a similar adapter, and its really picky about the resolution and refresh rate. Now i run it on windows but by messing with the settings i was able to make it in colour. You will prob have to mess with it a bit but what worked for me was 720 x 480, true color(32 bit), 59 hertz.
i don’t see any options for resolution in retroarch, so maybe try adjusting the refresh rate down to 59, or try a few values below 60. and if that dosent work maybe lakka has more options to change resolution that im not seeing because in running retroarch under windows.
What do you mean exactly by running it IN windows? You have windows installed and then have retroarch as a program? Do you have a link to show me how to do that? Maybe that will be my solution!
i mean i dont use lakka. I’m running to retroarch program on my windows pc.
ok i misunderstood the problem, you posted this in the lakka section which is a special os that runs only retroarch. But what you want to do is run retroarch on windows(which is a diffrent os than lakka) with the adapter.
what windows version is it, 10?
I believe its windows 7, but i could probably put 10 on there if its better to use with retroarch.
I think i figured it out! Wow, that makes it so much easier just running it off windows. and i KNOW how to get that converter to work on my windows machine! You just saved me! THanks Nonekiller001!
windows 7 is fine, but its just settings are moved around so ill tell you the general way to do it and you’ll just have do look around more. since im basing this on me using windows 10.
plug your adapter, right click on desktop, and click display settings.
click “advanced display settings” its at the bottom for me.
select the display that is the adapter, in my case it is number 2.
click display adapter properties.
click on list all modes
change the modes until it is in color and a stable image.
the one the works for me is 720 by 480, true color(32 bit), 59 hertz
any other questions or problems, ask and ill try and help.
edit: i see you got it to work, great! hopefully this guide will help someone, even if you didnt need it.
