How to access file system on Odroid XU4?

So - I’m wondering, how exactly am I meant to fully access the file system? Since I’m using an eMMC and don’t have a MicroSD reader that works with the eMMC -> MicroSD adapter, that’s not an option… but it shouldn’t need to be, since I can - in theory - flick the boot selector switch, and pop in a MicroSD that has Ubuntu on it.

Ubuntu itself works fine (if it didn’t, that wouldn’t really be relevant to Lakka anyway), but I cannot find where most of the files are - for the most part I can only access the same files I could over SSH anyway. Even revealing the hidden files, and accessing as root, a lot of the files don’t appear to be anywhere (for example, the default shaders), which I can only conclude means that they’re hidden in some way that even Ubuntu cannot access. For the record, they show up just fine in Lakka itself. So… is the only way to get a microSD reader that can work with the eMMC adapter; also meaning I’d need to take apart my Odroid case every time I want to access it? Or is there just something I’m overlooking here?

hello whiteninja79 i am in a similar situation, my emmc adapter does work however i fear removing and reinserting the emmc continously… so i have a 2gb micro sdcard fitted with linux. i never detach the emmc, and i work with the linux microsd, i followed these instruction " http://www.lakka.tv/get/linux/odroidxu3/install/ " first time (and every time i need to do a fresh install) normally i update the system inside lakka (update option) and i move/edit files using ssh/samba. hope this could help you Juri

Yup; I’m able to completely re-flash the eMMC; that’s how I got it on the first time (as my MicroSD reader doesn’t work with the adapter). But I was wanting to actually access the file system directly; but it seems, even with show hidden files on and root access, many parts of it are unavailable. For the record, I didn’t have this problem with Lakka on a PC’s internal hard drive, booting Ubuntu Live from a USB stick.
