HQ4x shader not working on Nvidia graphics card

Hi guys, I’ve been using RetroArch for quite some time now and haven’t had any problems but I exchanged my AMD Radeon HD 6870 GPU with a Nvidia GTX 970 yesterday and then RGUI always crashed when I entered it, or when I wanted to boot a game over CMD (I’m running Windows 8.1). I then deleted my config file and RGUI and my ROMs started up just fine again with the exact same settings I’ve used before except for the shaders. As I am used to some HQ shaders I, of course, want to use them again, so I chose the HQ4x shader, like I had before, but when I press Apply Shader Settings RetroArch crashes every single time. Most other shaders work just fine. I am sure that the drivers for my new Graphics Card are installed properly but I just can’t get this to work. Here’s my config file, maybe someone can find the culprit there: http://www.file-upload.net/download-100 … h.cfg.html

I’d appreciate any sort of help!

Wishing you nice holidays, MichiS97

Armada just made some small fixes to the hqx shaders a couple of days ago. Could you try getting the updated versions from https://github.com/libretro/common-shaders and see if they treat you any better? You might also try changing your driver to d3d, though I frequently get insta-crashes with it, so if that happens, delete your retroarch.cfg again and it will default back to ogl.

EDIT: also, have you checked into xBR? It looks very similar.

xBR looks amazing! Couldn’t figure out how to make RetroArch accept the updated HQ4x tho :stuck_out_tongue:
