INTEL NUC | NUC5i3RYK

Ok, So I am pretty new at this, I just saw this last week while browsing the net and decided that I was going to take the challenge. So I purchase an Intel Nuc wit Wireless and Bluetooth (model in the Title) and installed the software. It took me lots or reading to fine tune the installation as I wanted to. So I got sound via HDMI, got two PS3 Dualshock controllers working via Bluetooth. In general I’m happy with the software. I just would like to know how to load up PS1 games. If anyone can help please throw a dog a bone.

Thanks

You’ll need to use the medafen/beetle-psx core, and it’s very picky about a couple of things: 1.) you need to have the correct BIOS files in your ‘system’ directory. If you load up the core (but not any games yet) and go to information > core information, it should tell you if it’s finding your BIOS images. If not, search online for the correct checksums listed.

2.) it only accepts games in bin/cue format. No ISO.

3.) many cue sheets you find online were made on Windows filesystems, which are case-insensitive and spaces may not be escaped properly. The filesystems Lakka uses are case-sensitive, so you may need to open the cue sheet(s) and edit them to match the BIN file’s name/path exactly.

First, you need to get bios and put it to /storage/system. Be careful the names are case sensitive.

Then you can try to load your game with the cue file. Check the content of your cue file, it must point to the corresponding bin file which is also case sensitive.

You need to access Lakka command line interface to do the setup.

Hunter, thanks for the reply… So I got the bios and the bin/cue files… Now… where do I place the bios files and the bin/cue?

thanks

I actually have Lakka running on a similar product, so I’ve just recently gone through everything you have. The bios goes in the system folder and the bin/cue files go into the roms folder.

When I try to run the games my system only restarts and nothing.

Might not be the right bios? I had to download the 7001 version and rename to “scph5501.bin” works fine now. I might also add I was having problems with games stuttering and had to enable “threaded video” to resolve it.

As Hunterk pointed out, please check that the checksum of the bios is correct and also that the content of your cue files point to the correct img with a case sensitive name.

Where do I get the check sum? All the downloads I have got don’t have any check sum file.

You need to use a tool to generate md5sum. For example, online or on your PC.

So my 7001 does not have the md5sum but my 7003 does! can i rename it and load it?

If the checksum’s the same, you can rename /johnny cochran

OK, exactly where should I place the file?

Please read the documentation.
