Issues with Medafen PSX Emulation - Reads ISO/BIN as Audio CD?

Hello,

I’m new to the site/forum.

I have done QUITE a bit of searching before registering and I’ve been unable to resolve the issue that I’m having.

In detail, it is as follows:

Running on Dell Hybrid w/Intel chipset.

No issues with any other emulators.

I go to run PSX emu with correct bios files in the correct place (MD5 checked) and I get the BIOS splash of the PSX, then taken the the PSX Media player, as the image launched is being read as an audio cd.

Not sure what the issue is.

I have made the .cue files by hand and tried them with ISO, and BIN, and by converting ISO to BIN, and vice-a-versa. No luck.

I have ONE game that works flawlessly. Xenogears, Disc 1. The archive was packed as a .bin and .cue from the original (converted a long time ago, don’t know with what) so I just had to extract. Hit content load, select core. Boom. Works.

Upon examination, the .CUE looks the same as what I’m creating for my other games. My .cue are minding the case, identical in name (file name, and the text within the file), I’m at a complete loss. I’ve even compared what I’ve created to some .cue files I’ve found floating around. Really no idea what’s wrong.

NTSC for all games, including Xenogears.

On some games, it will just crash with my homemade cue, on others it goes to audio player.

What am I missing??

Thanks so much! And any help would be greatly appreciated.

edit Using latest version of Lakka, x64 (problem started with 32, moved up to x64 to see it would resolve the issue)

Check redump.org they have a database of .cue files for games.

You might have an easier time finding PBP’s or converting your ISOs to PBP format using PSX2PSP. Those are single, compressed files that don’t require a cue sheet.

Thanks Axiphel and Awakened. Nail on the head. Was a CUE issue. All is well now. Also thanks@ Drakonis and HunterK over at the Freenode #retroarch forum for walking me through it! Happy Gaming!
