Lakka And BerryBoot Issue, Incorrect font and UI icons are black boxes

Trying to get going with Lakka using BerryBoot and i’m easily able o extract the SYSTEM image from Lakka and get BerryBoot to boot into the UI but for some reason all graphical icon elements are missing and show as black boxes, also the font for the UI seems to of reverted to something incorrect.

The instructions on the Lakka wiki are not exactly well written and imply that i should be able to download a system image directly from the repository without having to extract it from another image, maybe i’m not understanding it? Thanks for any help.

Once you’re in the UI, go to the online updater and download the assets. That’s what’s missing from your installation.

Typically, people flash the entire image to their device, rather than extracting bits and pieces.

Thanks, no luck trying that but i’ll keep messing around, It never does the update on reboot. I also wanted to try running lakka-update but it seems another symptom of this issue is that SSH is broken.

As i’m writing this I just double checked bug reports and i’m not sure how I missed it the first time but I found my issue: https://github.com/libretro/Lakka/issues/373 looks like this isn’t an easy fix unfortunately.

Hi all,

i got the same issue. My feeling is also lakkas filesystem isnt made for that. Berryboot is a realy good concept. It makes realy sence. I have nearly 10 OS’s on the SD-Card. If lakka would work with that, it is possible to put, lakka and retropie etc. on one RPI3. All ROMS and configuration files should go to the external drive. With Symlinks it should be possible to share the external ROMS for both systems. This would be a goot solution.

Hope lakka will be changed.
