I was told in the Ubuntu forums awhile back that you can make and sell your own distros or flavors of linux. I am wondering if I can make and sell my own flavor of Lakka. It will use original games, not old ones by Atari, Sega, or Nintendo. I think Sony used a flavor of Lakka for the PlayStation 3.
Also, could Lakka run as an OS?
No, you cannot sell Lakka as-is. It is non-commercial and the name is also trademarked.
Sony didn’t use Lakka in any way or shape, this is misinformation. I am also closing this topic right now. I don’t want any further discussion on this. You are not allowed to sell Lakka commercially, and we have already shut down similar projects over this exact issue. And no, talking to us won’t make us change our mind about this - no means no, and you won’t get a yes out of us.
