Lakka Generic Hardware Support for PC, Notebooks, Netbooks

I checked the Lakka hardware support page and it did not contain much information about supported hardware for the generic PC platform.

Some of the old notebooks/netbooks I bought for installing libretro/retroach seem to have unsupported graphics chips.

So I would like to start creating a list of notebooks/netbooks and if lakka/retroarch runs on it (or not and why not). So I do not buy any more unsupported hardware.

This raises two questions:

  • Is there more detailed information about (un)supported graphics around?
  • Anyone of you already have tried to install lakka/retroarch on old notebooks/netbooks (did it work or not)?

My first thought is that Lakka is built on LibreElec – maybe there is a project like this already for LibreElec that could be borrowed from?

Hi,

I installed Lakka on my laptop. It works, I see the problem more with bluetooth controller. probably dirver in Lakka is not adapted for nintendo or other bluetooth controllers. USB controller works.

Graphics are OK even for 3D games Voice is outlined but … it can have noise or be slow.

About graphics, with Nvidia you only get the nouveau driver which is very slow. This can’t be fixed because the proprietary driver has no support for Kernel Mode Setting. I suggest you try integrated graphics first and if you need more GPU power, look for an AMD GPU.
