Lakka No Audio

Im testing out Lakka on a USB stick on my PC and am getting no audio, i have looked in Settings>Audio and there is no text under the ‘Device’ setting, i have used Putty to access the file system and have used the command…

lplay-L

and its listed the following…

**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 0: ALC889 Analog [ALC889 Analog] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 1: ALC889 Digital [ALC889 Digital] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 1: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 1: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 7: HDMI 1 [HDMI 1] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

So i have entered the ‘Device’ setting and entered ‘hw:1,3’ and press enter on the keyboard but still there is nothing entered in the ‘device’ line and is blank and i still get no audio

Is there supposed to be some text next the the Audio_device setting?

your syntax is a little off.

Try running aplay -L instead should read more like

front:CARD=Intel,DEV=0 to that effect depending on where you want the sound coming from

in my case it is

hdmi:CARD=Generic,DEV=0

Ok i now have loads of other audio device showing up, but the HDMI ones are…

hdmi:CARD=Nvidia,DEV=0

and

hdmi:CARD=Nvidia,DEV=1

have tried both of them in the audio settings under device in the settings in Lakka, but again when i press return nothing is added to the device line and i hear no audio. I have also tried adding the line in the retroarch.cfg file using PuTTY but its seems one i start a game and find out the audio isnt working when i go back and edit the retroarch.cfg file again the Audio_Device line has been deleted!!

Load putty root root systemctl stop retroarch nano .config/retroarch/retroarch.cfg ctrl w > audio_device then enter your card inside the quotes ctrl x > Y > press enter systemctl start retroarch

should do the trick

it is SYSTEMCTL but lower case. If you are not stopping the console it already has the cfg loaded and saves the one it loaded.

Worked like a charm, thank you

I did this and the device shows up in audio_device both in putty and in lakka settings but I still have no sound please help

Hello bluesax, maybe you didn’t choose the right audio_device, how much do you have?

Hello, I’m currently experiencing the same issue where I have no sound output. I’m running lakka on a pc connected to my receiver through hdmi. I have tried all the cards listed under aplay -L, the one that should work is hdmi:CARD=HDMI,DEV=0, but I still have no audio whatsoever. Has anyone else found a solution to this problem?

When you edit the retroarch.cfg, you stop the service before?

You mean retroarch right? I used systemctl to stop retroarch, then edit the cfg file as per http://www.lakka.tv/doc/Audio-settings/, and then started retroarch again. Whichever card I’ve typed into audio_device is listed in retroarch however there is still no audio.

Is it weird that all my cards are listed as device 0? Could it be a matter of finding the right hardware slot

Did you try the hdmi one?

Yes and I’ve tried cycling through DEV=1 , DEV=2 etc. No luck

This is strange, it should work.

Can you show me the audio_device line in your retroarch.cfg please?

Same problem here, no audio in HDMI. My graphic card is ATI Saphire HD6750. My audio config in “retroarch.cfg”: audio_device = “hdmi:CARD=HDMI,DEV=0” In Release r21027 audio is OK!

Ah, there is a bug report like this on github.

since we switched to drm kms, this bug appeared on a few ATI cards

Try passing radeon.audio=1 in the cmdline

I’m sorry for answering an old topic.

My audio card is Nvidia…with the tips of Amonight, audio works, but to shutdown the system, have to modify the 48000 Hz Audio to 44100Hz or 44100Hz to 4800HZ. When it works randomly is muted for a few seconds.

ZOTAC GF9300-I-E LGA 775 NVIDIA GeForce 9300 HDMI Mini ITX Intel Motherboard and lakka 64bits

Any solution?

Hello, My aplay -l: **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: V8237 [VIA 8237], device 0: VIA 8237 [VIA 8237] Subdevices: 4/4 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 Subdevice #1: subdevice #1 Subdevice #2: subdevice #2 Subdevice #3: subdevice #3 card 0: V8237 [VIA 8237], device 1: VIA 8237 [VIA 8237] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

I tried both of the following lines in retroarch.cfg, but without success: audio_device=VIA:CARD=V8237,DEV=0 audio_device=VIA:CARD=V8237,DEV=1

am I doing something wrong?

Can you give the output of aplay -L ?
