Lakka on pi zero - Arcade emulation

So, Installing Lakka on PiZero was no problem. Neither was transferring Master System and NES ROMs. But arcade ROMs are a different story. I have tried many different kinds, but nothing shows up when i scan for arcade ROMs. I can open the ROMs through Open Content, and they are really slow - but I would like them to show up as a playlist next to SMS and NES. I cannot figure out if it is a PiZero issue, or what else I could be missing. On all the youtube videos I have seen, there are FBA and other emulators showing in the main XMB menu. Is there a simple way to explain this to a noob like myself?

I’ve been having problems too. but for Final burn it needs to be 0.2.97.38 Non-Merged rom set and in the lakkas rom dir in a folder called “FB Alpha 0.2.97.38” ive just found out. trying now.

Got most but not all roms showing up doing what I said above

This new thread may help: http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6661

Basically I am looking for an easy way of getting arcade ROMs to work with Lakka. So far, I have understood that FBA is the better (easier?) choice. But after having downloaded som non-merged ROM sets, and put them into a folder called “FB Alpha 0.2.97.38” they still won’t show. Do I need to create a playlist for the arcade games? I knew that it wouldn’t be as easy as with the SMS and NES ROMs, but I cannot seem to find any documentation that explains this in a straightforward way: “Here’s how you play arcade games with Lakka”

Apologies for the trouble on this. Since you first posted, there has been an active discussion among devs and volunteer on github about how to explain this better. A revised set of docs is forthcoming. I’ll look into your specific question in the meantime though.

I have created a prototype pre-built FBA playlist for the non-merged set. If you have a way to transfer this to your Playlists folder in Lakka, keep the ROMs in the same folder you mentioned. This playlist should create a listing for the complete set on the horizontal menu with support for the built-in thumbnail pack downloader.

Link to the playlist (inside a zip file): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4gWQ8g8Bzq3aVFwaHhGTFBaNlE/view?usp=sharing

If you use this and it works, please let me know.

Thank you very much for the help markwkidd. I just tried the playlist file, and it kind of works. The FBA logo is now turning up next to the NES and SMS. Great!!! The thing is though, that the playlist contains, what I guess must be all FBA games - about 1000 or so games on the list. I just need to play a few games. Is there some way to sort the list, so it only shows the ROMs I have?

Thank you

From what I can tell, the FBA 0.2.97.38 ROMs to use as of the current nightly Lakka build are a Split set. That being said, I have just created an issue to see if RetroArch could add playlist support for the Non-Merged FBA set that is in circulation. Presumably the same one you have. If that is something you are interested in you, may stop by the github thread: https://github.com/libretro/libretro-database/issues/248

If you have a Non-Merged set presently and also have access to that set on a Windows PC I can share a playlist generating script that will manually create a playlist for the ROMs you are trying to use.
