Lakka on PSP or PS Vita?

Some of you might have seen my recent posts asking questions to fine-tune my Lakka install and capabilities. I’ve been having a blast, and I’m looking to go smaller. My first thought was to find some way to finagle something like a raspberry pi, a power source, a screen, and controller into one portable (ugly and perhaps unwieldy) device. Then it occurred to me that a perfect combination of these features would be something like a PSP or PS Vita (or perhaps even the Wii U controller that has the screen??). So my question is can Lakka be installed on a PSP or PS Vita somehow? I found a link (http://buildbot.libretro.com/stable/1.3.0/) where RetroArch could be installed on them. That’s a step in the right direction, and I might give that a shot should this prove unfeasible. But to be honest, I really like using Lakka and the whole “turning a machine into a dedicated emulator” thing :).

So, can it be done? If so, I’m guessing some jailbreaking will need to be done, a way to hopefully increase storage space, etc.

Can’t hurt to ask!

Wouldn’t it be better to install Retroarch instead of going all out and trying to run Lakka on a 300 MHZ processor and far less memory than what a Raspberry pi has?

RetroArch can run on PS VITA.

I might have to go the RetroArch route. But like I’d mentioned, if at all possible, I’d like to go with Lakka. The functionality of something like the PS Vita is perfect for something like this.

Lakka is just a pared-down linux distro that boots directly into RetroArch. What is it about Lakka that you think would be missing from RetroArch-on-Vita?

I just really like the “this machine does nothing but play games via emulators and does it VERY well” idea :). I’ve become a huge fan of Lakka and what it does :).

I know that linux can run on PSP, but in a very limited form that wouldn’t allow Lakka to run.

I’m not well aware of the porting effort on Vita.

But it’s very unlikely that it will get done soon. I recommand you go the RetroArch way.

If you find a good PSP chinese clone on the net that is able to run Linux, and not just Android, with some documentation, I can try to port Lakka on it.

I’ll give RetroArch a shot once I get a hold of a PSP that I don’t mind sacrificing :).

I’ll also be on the lookout for a PSP clone of some kind!

If you find a psp clone based on an allwinner or amlogic processor, tell me, I may be able to port lakka to it.

No rockship.

Maybe something like this http://www.jxd.hk/game-console-m/s5110b/ but I don’t know the progress of linux on Amlogic MX-S
