Hi I am still kind of new to lakka and iv been using it for the past couple of days but when i plugged it into my tv it got really slow and i was getting 3.4 FPS on the menu. I thought it was maybe the computer couldn’t handle the higher resolution but after i unplugged the HDMI i was still getting 3.4 FPS and iv tried everything i know how to do and i cant find anything online. I could use some help, Thank you
What have you tried so far? Are you running from a USB stick? What type of video card do you have?
I have it installed to my laptop. It has a i3 and intel graphics. I have tried changing the menu from xmbr to something less intensive i cant remember the name. iv changed the shades, textures, scaling, resolution, capping the fps. changing in game settings. it started being really slow for some reason after i plugged it into my tv, i don’t know what would cause that?
You can try setting your refresh rate to 60 in your retroarch.cfg.
Iv tried changing the refresh rate but it didnt change anything. Does the refresh rate have to be specific? even after i unplug from my tv it still runs at 3.4 FPS even when i have no game running. does plugging into a tv change any settings that would cause it to suddenly run so slow?
You PROBABLY have some shader(s) active by default. Try saving stock.gdsl as the default saver and make sure that there are no other layers of shaders active.
If that end up being the problem, and you experience the same issue after loading a core, you’ll probably need to do the same step above for every core. Don’t forget to save settings.
Adding onto what tonyhoro said, also check the menu settings for what sort of shader pipeline is set…
The easiest option, if you haven’t set too many custom settings, is just to delete your retroarch.cfg and start over with a clean config.
Oh my god thank you, setting the shader worked. i dont know what happened but i went into shaders and stock.gdsl was set like i had it and it was set to x5 which iv done before and it worked fine in less intensive games and on the menu before going into a game. but i set it to x1 and hit apply and frames went up 65.2FPS like before i started messing with the shaders. i dont know if my tv changed something but from what it looked like it was still set to what i had it to from when i started putting games on lakka. i dont know why it acted up so badly. But thank you so much
