Lakka v2.0 core download support

Hello,

Old Lakka use to have option for downloading core’s, but I can not find in in v2.0. Am I missing something or cores must be added manually Lakka 2.0

Thanks

i would like that option too.

I have disabled this options because most cores from the buildbot are incompatible with Lakka.

What are the cores you need? I will include them in the next update.

Hi,

Just saying it is nice feature, create separate repo for V2.x, when some new core appears users can download it themselves.

My goal is to release a new update of lakka every month, and users could get new cores (there are around 2 new cores per month) by downloading this upgrade.

Will used be able to update it without reinstall ? Also nice feature would be external FAT32 /storage partition on SD card (I use Lakka on raspberry pie). Because doing 30GB Rom copy from Windows to Lakka /storage partition is extremely slow. This way coping Roms from Windows would be much easier.

I’d really like to try mame2016 both under PC and OdroidXU3. If I compile mame2016-libretro on the RetroPie distro, it works and Deathsmiles starts even if it is completely unusable under the Raspberry PI 3. However I’d love to give it a try under ODroidXU3 (it worked flawlessly on a PC with Lakka < 2.0).

i think an update every month is better than having a separate repo for cores, in this way we can have bug fix/improvements of lakka every month  even little ones

Please pack in the newer Mame-Cores 2014, 2016 , too (at least for the x86/x64 images)

Yeah you will be able to update without reinstalling. Reinstalling is needed only when we really break retrocompatibility with a new major version. It’s not the case here.

I’ll try to add as much cores as possible, especially on PC.
