Loading Playstation ROMs

I installed lakka this week, and managed to get it to play some Sega Mega Drive games almost instantly - it’s very easy to use.

But I’m having trouble getting Playstation ROMs to run. I have .bin and .cue files in dedicated folders within the ROM folder, and I’ve pasted the bios files (scph5500.bin, scph5501.bin, scph5502.bin) into the system folder. And I’ve scanned the ROM directory, and the games are listed under the little PS joypad icon.

But when I try to play them, Lakka shows me its loading logo, then returns back to the main menu. No sign that the game loaded, or failed.

Is there anything I can do to test things? At this point I don’t know whether my BIOS files or my ROMs are at fault, or if there’s some other configuration that I’ve missed.

Two things can cause this:

  1. In your .cue files, the name of the .bin doesn’t match, or is not case sensitive.
  2. Your BIOSes are wrong, use the checksums to compare

Thanks. I’ve now tested some of the ROMs using a different emulator and they load, so I guess the issue is the BIOS files.

It was very difficult for me to find the correct BIOS files.
