Logitech Gamepad F310 - does not work

Hello, I’ve been using the LAKKA os to run games. I’ve been using a Rock Candy for Xbox 360 controller without any issues. Today, I plugged in a Logitech gamepad F310. It’s recognized as such by the system but it will not function. Also, it’s only recognized with the switch on X. If I change it to D, the controller is not recognized at all. Does anybody have any ideas on why this controller is recognized but won’t work ?

Thank you very much !

Hello, are you using the release of yesterday?

Hello Kivutar, I am using the version from this website: http://lifehacker.com/how-to-turn-your-pc-or-other-device-into-a-retro-arca-1703576831. If there is a way to update, I will give that a try. Thank you very much for the reply !

Just download the latest nightly build from here for your system: http://sources.lakka.tv/nightly/ (Download the latest .TAR file)

Open it and look into the “target” folder for these four files : KERNEL KERNEL.md5 SYSTEM SYSTEM.md5

Connect to your Lakka though your network and place those files in the Update folder.

Then restart your machine. Restarting from the menu didn’t update it for me, but when I powered the whole thing off and started it again, it updates. Once that’s done, should be all good to go with the F310.

Hi Vlad, Thank you very much for the reply. I tried this but I think I downloaded the wrong .tar file. My fault for not specifying my OS on the laptop in my OP. I placed the files in the update folder from the generic.X86_64 .tar download in the update folder. I rebooted and the screen showed that the kernel and system were updating. It rebooted itself and now it freezes with just the flower on the screen. The OS of the laptop I’m running from RUN LIVE off the usb stick is Windows Vista 32-bit. Did I download the wrong .tar ?

Thank you again for the help !

Yes, you downloaded the 64bit image to run on the 32bit computer. Please choose the i386 builds.

Also, please in the future do not download any image of Lakka from external websites, they are certainly old!

Hi Kivutar, I finally had a chance to redo this. I remade a boot disk, added the four files to the update folder and rebooted to Lakka. Now the controller works but I have a completely different menu. I don’t have the nice graphical interface that allows me to scroll across the different game cores. I now have a “text” menu that shows MENU at the top in green. There are the choices down the left side. To play a game, I have to use the down arrow key to select "Load Content (Detect Core), Then I see a list of my games and I can choose from there. I do thank you for the fix in getting the controller to work. Is there a way to get the other menu system back ?

Thanks again !

OK, choose “xmb” in settings -> drivers -> menu driver. And restart retroarch.

Worked perfectly ! There is so much to this application that I do not know yet. Your help is greatly appreciated.

MERCI BEAUCOUP !

Bob

one more question please…at the bottom of the screen it shows “1.2 No Core”. I do not remember seeing that before. Does this mean anything ?

It means the core you are currently using. You can hide that label. In settings->menu settings->show core version

Just reporting back that this controller is working just fine on Lakka box. The only thing it is missing is a “middle” button like on an x-box controller. So I have to hit ESC to end games but it is not that much trouble. Thank you again Kivutar for the support.

Try L3+R3 to trigger the menu?
