MAME Rom Question

I’m wondering what Core plays MAME Roms? And also what format should they be in? I’ve tried using Roms that I have that are .zip but those don’t seem to load in the latest Nightly build.

Thanks!

You need ROMs from the ROMset that matches the core. For mame2003, that’s v078, for mame2010, it’s v0139, for mame2014, it’s v0157. For fba, it’s either v0.2.97.30 or v0.2.97.36, depending on whether you’re using fb_alpha_libretro or fba_libretro.

So, look for exactly those ROMsets.

Ok so I’ve grabbed a few roms from 0151 and still cannot run them with Lakka. I have version 1.2.2 installed on my RBpi2 I’ve tried both inside the .zip and inside .7z and also extracting them. I can’t find any core to run the file. I don’t see a Core name for anything resembling MAME…

Ok I was able to get 1 rom working using FB Alpha (Arcade) as the Core. Now I can’t figure out how to insert a credit for a 1 player game  I’m assuming I have to configure that?

I’m using a PS3 style controller only, with SSH access into the Lakka

I think ‘coin’ is typically mapped to ‘select’.

How do I map that after the fact and only with a controller or SSH access?

got it working thanks! How do I bind the “hotkey” and how does it work?

Nevermind it’s mapped to PS button…works great

If you use FBA as core, take FBA roms, not MAME roms.
