MAME Roms Help

Hello,

I’m trying to use MAME roms with Lakka, I copied 110 games in the folder /storage/roms/arcade in .zip format. When scanning the directory to create the Playlist, only 32 detects me, and of those 32 only run 12 … I tried to manually open the .zip files with different Cores but not works. Cores of MAME I have installed are:

mame_libretro.so mame2000_libretro.so mame2003_libretro.so mame2014_libretro.so fb_alpha_cps1_libretro.so fb_alpha_cps2_libretro.so fb_alpha_libretro.so fba_libretro.so

Any help or advice?

Thank you very much!

AFAIK, the scanning only works with fba_libretro ROMs.

Arcade emulators are super-picky about ROMs and will only run ones from a set that exactly matches the emulator’s version. That is, mame2003 is actually v0.078 and it will only run ROMs from that ROMset.

Hi.

So I understand that for convenience, better use for fba_libretro roms for roms that scanning work. Is there any possibility to download roms knowing they are specific to the Core?

Thank you!

if you google ‘fba roms’ I think the first hit should get you ones that work with it.

We cant talk about where to find roms here. This is not the place for that.

Hi.

Ok, and i’m sorry

Please read the documenation

I’ve been doing some work to create a kind of master table of emulator core requirements in the documentation wiki. It’s incomplete overall but the arcade ROM part is pretty much in place. You might find it useful as well: https://github.com/libretro/Lakka/wiki/ROMs-and-BIOSes

Hi at all! As pi0lin I think I’m a little bit confused. What if I have Mame2003 0.78 ROMS and I want to use that emulator to run my ROMS?

Thank you very much

Hello!

I finally made the list of games manually, practically testing all the roms with each emulator that has Lakka for Mame.

There is an option that is to open a roms with the emulator that you want, try to see with which option you work the roms that you have.

Regards!

Not-so-clever-but-fully-working solution  regards
