Multiple Controllers On Lakka Not Working

Hi there!

I installed Lakka last night on a PC build and am attempting to play some multiplayer games.

I have two controllers, a genuine Xbox-360 wired controller and a Logitech xbox-360 wired controller.

If I plug in each controller one at a time into my my PC’s USB ports then they will both work on the Lakka menu and in-game (in this case Super Mario World).

However, if I plug them both in at the same time only the first controller that was plugged in (player 1) will work.

I have attempted to map the second controllers keys as “Input User 2” using the player 1 controller that works. This doesn’t seem to change anything as I still can’t control anything as Luigi (second player) in Super Mario World.

I have tried different USB ports, different key configurations and more but I can’t seem to figure this out. If anybody has an idea please let me know. Thanks!

Go into input > player 2 binds and change the device index to your other device. It ideally happens automatically but 360 pads seem to be uncooperative sometimes.

Do you mean change the device index to the first controller?

There should be two devices in the device index field, so try switching p2 to the other one.

I am back home now and I have looked further into the issue. Here is what I have found. Both the 360 and the logitech are now both mapped manually and work separately from each other when tested on input user 1. In other words, if I switch my “Input User 1 Binds” index to the 360 or to the logitech I am able to successfully control the Lakka menu with each controller and also my Super Mario World game. However, both controllers will not work simultaneously with one being on input user 1 and the other being on input user 2. I read something on the forums about devices using “cores”? Are cores not able to be run at the same time by default?

Only P1 can control the menus. Are you actually going into a 2-player game and trying p2 there? or just in the menu?
