NES games work when using Load Content but don't come up in a list when scanned...

Hi Folks,

Loving Lakka…but I’m a newb to it. I am having trouble getting my NES games to appear in a list form (no problems with Atari or SNES in this regard)…But, I know they are working because I can load them via “Load Content.”

It’s fine the way it is…but I’m a bit of a perfectionist…any ideas how I might get them to load in list form?

Thanks!

Our databases only recognize games from the No-Intro set. It can be hard to find the correct one for NES, though, because at some point they started getting rid of the headers that are necessary for emulators to actually run the games >_>. So, find the latest headered No-Intro NES set and it should pick them up just fine.

If you run into problems doing that, you can also use a script to create a playlist file without actually scanning any of the ROMs. That is, they will appear in the list but they won’t be able to show boxart/thumbnails or information, etc.

Oh they totally can, they just have to be named to match the box art of the given game and the boxart file has to already be downloaded. I got several that are patched roms (translation patches) that I got to display box art. I just had to make sure the call name of the game matched the filenames of the boxart png files.

Thanks for the info, folks!

Absolutely loving Lakka…so easy to install my PS4 controller and get everything up and running on a TV. Now, if my net box was only powerful enough to crank out N64 at a reasonable rate!
