No input except keyboard

I just did a fresh install and updated as follows:

Lakka (unofficial) Version: devel-20161002110808-r21593-g03241bf
Lakka git: 03241bf2ccf3fbf6f71d04489e02ae3cee8565e1

Since the install I have not been able to use any input but keyboard, ie: it has never worked. I’ve played with a few settings, plugged and unplugged, but no luck. It did not work with the original stable version, either and I only upgraded to try to solve the issue.

I have seen it declare that the controller is configured, but it has no effect on the menu whatsoever. With various settings, it sometimes says it is unconfigured (when autoconfig is turned off for instance.)

This worked on the same machine with the same controller on a previous version of Lakka. I feel like it is some sort of misconfiguration. I am willing to do a fresh reinstall.

Any advice or hints?

Aloha.

If you made an update try to purge your configuration file.

As gouchi said, purge the config file, and when you are finished with that be ready to remap the keys on your controller. You may have to navigate to it using the keyboard depending on the controller.

Sorry for the long delay in response; a project for work kept me ridiculously busy.

I’ve tried this with the live version as well, same symptoms. It’s weird. I’ve tried this with two different stable versions of Lakka, including the one that previously worked.

I’ve just finished doing an enhanced wipe of the hard drive and a fresh install. Still no auto-configuration.

When I connect the controller, I see the following:

Microsoft X-box pad v2 (US) (1118/649) not configured

When I disconnect the controller, I see this:

Device #0 (Microsoft X-box pad v2 (US)) disconnected

I’ve tried removing retroarch.cfg from the ~/.config/retroarch directory. No change. Do I need to somehow enable autoconfig? (Which seems strangely unfriendly, if so.)

Any ideas? I’ve tried it with two x-box controllers and a set of arcade buttons. No difference (except the error message, with the arcade buttons).

Aloha.

There is not yet autoconfig profile for your controller, you need to bind it first. If you want, you can contribute to the project so that it will be integrated in the next update

Looks like I can bind these, which is awesome. Maybe I did it last time? Possible, I guess.

Can someone give me suggestions for the proper binds? I find that the names (like, " B (down) ") do not suggest the proper positions. I am willing to take them apart and move the button caps.

What should I bind the “back”, “start”, “white” and “black” buttons to? I’m not really a gamer, just setting this up for someone and to learn a bit.

Aloha!

PS: here is an image:

This is the Xbox Controller S (There was a Japanese one and after US, European one) You must have the US or European one that is why it was not recognized in the beginning.

You can try to bind :

Back => Select Start => Start White => L2 Black => R2

As you already bind your trigger with L1 and R1.

Will do. Should I bind the other buttons by letter or by position?

I’ll be glad to contribute it to the project as well, of course.

Aloha.

Try to follow RetroPad layout so by position.

Thank you for your contribution.
