No sound hdmi to tv

So this has been driving me crazy. I got a raspberry pi with noobs on the sd card. From there I can download lakka and raspian. I have tried both ofthem out and at first I was getting no sound output. I looked up how to fix this and I was able to get sound in raspian uncomenting #hdmi_drive=2. So I downloaded lakka and the sound issue was back. How do I get sound out of lakka? I think I need step by step help? Please help

The file should be in /boot/config.txt. You need to access Lakka system command line, then edit your file with nano /boot/config.txt. (nano shortcuts CTRL+O to save and CTRL+X to quit)

When I log in into the root then type in nano /boot/config.txt the menu to uncoment does not appear. In raspian there’s a menu of things to U comment in this it’s just blank? Do I just type in hdmi_drive=2 into it if so what do I save it to after I press control x??

So try to add it then.

How do I add it? So this are my steps: open putty,log in as root, write nano /boot/config.txt, then what?

When I add it it ask me to save nano /boot/config.txt and I can’t press enter until I add txt. Then if I add anything it says error file not in directory.???

HIghly suspecting you don’t know: log into the Raspberry Pi using another PC (you can’t use Raspian!) connected to the Pi on the same network (if you’re using a Windows machine, use Putty) while Lakka is booted up and then do this: http://www.lakka.tv/doc/Raspberry-Pi/. Username: root. Password: root. Look for the IP address of the Lakka unit under Lakka > Information > Network Information > eth0 or wlan0, depending on if you have it connected wired or wirelessly, respectively.

That’s the thing when I log in into putty and type in nano /boot/config.txt I don’t get any of the menus to uncomment. I tried just typing hdmi_drive=2 then it ask me save file name as. How do I save it? I’ve been dealing with this for a week now, thanx for every ones help. I would really like to just fix it.new too linux by the way.i was successful doing this in raspian but can’t get it in lakka if that helps?

I always forgot you have to remount /flash in rw as specified in this message.

Ok thank you, yeah I’m prob too much of a noob to know what any of that is I’ll try mounting flash commands when I get the chance. Yeah the ^x and ^o were helpful. Hopefully the mounting flash works.

Hello, have you tried with Lakka 2.0 that we released the last week? It has hdmi_drive=2 by default now. And it can be installed from NOOBS too.
