No Sound - Lakka running on PC w/ Creative card

Hi,

I am using an nvidia gt730 outputting to a crt monitor from VGA and an X-fi titanium HD sound card.

I am having an issue with sound. Audio devices are sometimes detected but other times not, regardless, there is never any sound output. When they are they include the graphics card’s hdmi audio and several of the x-fi. I’d prefer to use the motherboard’s audio if this is possible but no relevant devices ever every show up.

I rebooted lakka in verbose from the network and get this:

Hi gouchi, sorry for the haphazard op, I edited it to include the log.

Thank you for the log, is it possible to make a test with our nightly builds if you reproduce the issue ?

I tried two Generic.x86_64 builds and they all give me the same issue and the same audio errors on the log.

The 05-01 build also saves config on exit regardless of the setting, this made it impossible to change config via ssh.

Is it possible to get the output of

aplay -L

edit: these options are always listed with aplay -L but they only show up on the gui when using “alsa” only and not “alsathread”.

Can you try to edit configuration file with audio_device = “default:CARD=XFi”

ok i did and it seems to initialize successfully but there is still no sound output.

Tried every device with both alsa and alsathread and the result is the same: driver loads but there’s never any sound output.

Now I installed windows on another drive and tested the card and it worked, but the motherboard audio didn’t. Turns out it was disabled in the bios…

Went back on lakka and integrated sound device is detected now but also gave no sound…

nano’d config to select it but get “[ERROR] ALSA: Failed to initialize…” when launching retroarch from ssh…

But when I booted normally without network… SOUND! :smiley:

As far as my end user needs are concerned I’m happy with the results but I want to see if the x-fi audio will work this way too. I’ll reinstall the card tomorrow and let you know if I have success.

I am glad it is working but I am kind of confused that the network is the root issue.

I bet if you go into Audio > Audio Device and check there, you’ll find something missing for your audio while you’re running Lakka. Just saying. :slight_smile:

I see when you relaunch RetroArch remotely it doesn’t work. It should work properly indeed.
