Nvidia GeForce 7025 not supported?

Hi,

I ran into a problem after installing Lakka, it has an error saying “Failed to start xorg. Is your GPU supported?”

Have any of you had any problems with that specific GPU? Is there a way to solve it currently or am I stuck for now?

Thanks in advance

Nope, not supported… bummer :frowning: -it’s just too old. You need -at the minimum- a 8300+ with a “Gxx” core that uses unified shader architecture. Does the board you’re using include a PCI Express slot? If so, this problem can be easily remedied for short money… Worst case scenario, you could get a standard PCI video card, but the cost would be somewhat high to justify for such an old system… Otherwise your ^$#@ out of luck :frowning:

I responded to another thread similar to this a week or two ago; there’s some more info there if you dig for it.

Can you try the latest bêta 6 of OpenELEC? They deliver an “nvidia legacy” build. If it works, we may want to upgrate to version 6 when it becomes stable.

I see, what a bummer… I will check into the OpenELEC option and if not, I will see if I can get a hold of a newer GPU. My main purpose was to not spend money on this so idk, I’ll get back to you if I figure something out so maybe other people can get some answers as well. Thanks a lot

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot to ask. Would a GeForce 9400 GT make the cut?

Hi,

I confirm that [Beta] OpenELEC 5.95.5 (x86_64) (Nvidia Legacy Builds) works with my old Nvidia card (Geforce Go 7400). The Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT is also supported.

P.S = For the supported NVIDIA GPU with driver 304.128 (legacy for GeForce 6 and 7 series). Source.
