Pb for instaling Lakka on Pc

Hello

During the installation with an USB key I have the following error message:

*** Error in mount_flash: mount_common: could not mount UUID=xxxxxx ***

Starting debugging shell… type exit to quit

sh: can’t access tty; job control turned off

I tried with different key usb and two Pc: same Pb

I also tried with various versions:

Lakka-Generic.i386-2.1.img.gz Lakka-Generic.i386-2.1-rc6.img.gz Lakka-Generic.i386-2.0.img.gz Lakka-Generic.x86_64-2.1.img.gz

Pc on which I want that it works is a HP Intel P4.

I saw that other people have this problem, but I do not manage find/to understand the solutions.

Thank you for your help.

Can you try to burn your image with Etcher or Rufus ?

Thank you.

Hello.

I tested with Etcher by using Lakka-Generic.i386-2.1.img.

The PC HP does not recognize any more the key for boot above (because of Bios I think).

As a result I wanted to test on an Asus eepc, and this time that boot and that installs Lakka, whereas with UnetBootin I had the error quoted in my first post. On the other hand the installation is very long, it’s normal ?

I could not test with Rufus, because I did not find a version for Linux.

For my PC HP, Etcher uses system EFI, if I am not mistaken, and the Bios does not deal with it. I thus do not know how to make to install Lakka on this PC.

If you have issue with your Bios to boot on usb you may try to use Plop Boot Manager.

Etcher just burn the image. Our image can boot on normal bios or efi.

Hello.

Sorry, but I don’t arrive there at with Plop Manager (on my PC HP P4). To be honest, I don’t understand how it is necessary to make !

Other share, I also tested on EeePC. I prepared the key with Echer:

  • Boot Ok
  • After partitioning: reboot on the USB key
  • from there, I have one smell of which appears then a black screen and so on. That does not stop!

I let turn the PC during 4 or 5 hour and that always make the same thing. At the end of 4h I stopped EeePc and by checking the key, I see that the 3rd partition filled, but I still do not manage to have Lakka!!

I hope to be able to find a solution and to test Lakka.

Thank you

Hi,

Please boot by typing in the boot menu

live ssh textmode

To get your ip address just type ifconfig in the shell prompt otherwise on your PC, you can try to type ping lakka.local

Then please provide some lakka system log.

Plop Boot Manager is another boot manager which will allow to boot in usb if you have some issue with your bios to boot to usb.

Thank you.

Hello.

Firstly, happy new year :tada:

Then, I could recover a file of log. Do you want that I you it sending or I copy it in a post?

As you wish if you paste here please use Preformatted text (Ctrl+Shift+c) otherwise online.

Segmentation fault (core dumped)

It’s better with this link

It seems your graphic card is too old to handle xmb menu so you should try to edit the configuration file with this parameter.

Try with

menu_shader_pipeline = "0"

If it is still doesn’t work, try with

menu_driver = "rgui"

Please don’t forget to stop retroarch before editing the configuration file.

Thank you.

So, by adding menu_shader_pipeline = “0” and after reload Retroarch I see the frontend appearing, but the icons (QuickMenu, LoadCore…) are black. On the other hand I can make ravel the menu with the arrows. When I reboot, the screen change between the frontend and black screen (with the flower) and I can nothing make.

When I modify value XMB by RGUI it is stable, even after reboot.

Your graphics card is too old for XMB. I can trace that from the segmentation fault that occurred from the log you posted.

Sorry to just jump into someone else’s thread but I am new here and couldn’t figure out how to make my own. I can’t get lakka to boot on my pc. It gets to the flower logo which flashes on and off every few seconds. I am trying to connect via ssh but I’ve never used it before and I think I need some help figuring it out. I connected my windows PC to the PC that I installed lakka on and used ipconfig to find the ip. I typed that into putty but it said connection refused. I am at a complete loss right now and would be grateful for any help or suggestions you may have. I think if I could access it via ssh then I could get the log files for you all and maybe that would help. Thanks a lot and again sorry to hijack this thread.

@eithanw try to come on our irc channel so that we can help you.

Hello everyone.

Thank you very much for your assistance. That enabled me to better understand how to function Lakka.

On my EeePc, I wanted just to make a test.

I still allow a question: is it possible to make an installation on the hard drive of a PC? Do I have the feeling that Lakka functions only as a Live Usb!?

Thank you
