More of a hardware question. What would be better to run lakka on for compatibility and speed wise. Pentium 4, soon to be Pentium D or a Pi3
That really depends on which core you’re using. Some things will likely be faster (for example, N64 is probably more usable on a P4) but others are better on the RPi3. Beetle-PSX probably won’t be full speed on the P4, while PCSX-ReARMed runs great on a RPi3.
I used to run an Atom/ION board in my arcade cab but I recently switched to an RPi3 and it’s a much better experience.
I installed some n64 roms on it this evening but didn’t get a chance to test it out. Any someone difficult to run games on 64 that I could test on my p4? DK? I’ll have to throw on one of my pax games and try that out too! I think I won’t bother with the ssd. The OS is so light that it boots up fast already
