That’s crt-royale if you are talking about the pic of E-Honda
Every time I try to copy a preset someone posts I always get the “failed to apply shader preset” error. I’ve wiped my shader folder and redownloaded the latest + whatever the poster says is required but it always fails. I copy their preset, save as a slangp file, and place file into my shader folder.
Is there something I am doing wrong?
probably just path issues. you just have to make sure you put the preset where it’s supposed to be to find all of the shaders.
If you activate the “logs” console on RetroArch (or if you let it save them in a text file) you can have a precise idea of what’s missing or of the paths you should use. Try it!
Slot Masks make me nuts. I want it sharp but it because a noisy pattern so quick. Here is another attempt with mask 3. My comprise is softer scanlines that turn into blobby dots in the brights.
A fair while back my last post was this. So, for nearly the past two months, I’ve spent all my free time creating perhaps the greatest general purpose Advanced preset for SDR displays ever, only to come back and find that slang shaders now support HDR. Oh well, it probably works well in both,
These forgo masks in order to achieve maximum brightness with minimum color degradation (without HDR). Their strongest point, however, is a carefully configured beam profile.
If I were given a choice between an actual Trinitron and these presets I might just choose the presets. They really need to be seen in motion, so copy them and give them a go. (And maybe tell me how it looks on an OLED display if you can?)

Simpler without unneeded stuff, but still brightness is killed overall on a normal monitor.
Hi! I use this setting with ntsc-adaptive with hyllian-sync and Guest custom-sharpen. I like how the scanlines are very thick in the dark parts without losing saturation, as well as I love the formed spikes.
However, I could not configure scanlines similarly in guest-venom-advanced-ntsc as scanlines always lose saturation. So I tried combining ntsc-adaptive with custom-fast-sharpen and image-adjustment with guest-dr-venom-kurozumi, but it results in an error when executing the preset I made. Could someone please let me know where I was wrong?

It reminds me of some JVC CRT Screenshots I’ve recently come across. Love the saturation. Seems pretty authentic to me. Does this preset have a name?

Yes that is correct. Very simple tweak, really. Instead of using 3 of your pixel to form an RGB pixel it uses 2 pixels without any subpixel artifacts.
