Problem with install on PC

Good day all!

New Lakka user here. Followed instructions to the letter, and installed on an old computer I had lying around. Once installation is done, i remove the flash drive as instructed and am greeted with a Lakka symbol. But nothing happens. I had it stay on for 30 minutes, but nothing actually happens. Did I miss something?

Thank you for using Lakka. Is it possible to provide some logs (Lakka system and graphic card logs) ?

Thank you.

Unfortunately not. However, the system is a Pentium D 3.8GHz single core, 2.5 GB RAM. Thats all I can gather at the moment. I also have the latest version of Lakka.

hi, try this http://www.lakka.tv/doc/PC/

i am almost certain that your problem will be solved

I activated OpenSSH, booted up and it gets stuck on it gets to Retroarch! I doubt it has to deal with multiple displays since the only card is integrated with the motherboard and only has VGA. But I may try it tomorrow when I have time.

I’m still confused guys. I seem to have a ton of issues. Can’t find the Lakka Box on my network, can find its Ip and the instructions provided are confusing as all hell can be. Here an image of what it gets stuck on. I would appreciate if someone could help me step by step with this since assistance seems to be in short supply here.

More info you say?:

Used LAN Scanner to try and detect the IP Address of the Lakka Box. All IP’s come up inactive on SSH Port 22. Lakka box is on, at the screen below where the trouble happens. Without the IP, I cannon use the SSH client to get into the command line area to do anything. This includes getting logs, or trying jcam79’s suggestion.

The only thing I could think of is (A) could be because I’m attempting to use a relatively large HHD (250GB), or (B) the onboard GPU is in compatible and require to be replaced with a PCI-E one. However, im unsure how those two things would stop Retroarch in its tracks from loading.

If you can’t connect to ssh, you can use direct access.

OK, thats nice, but once again the instructions are confusing. I am not a computer major, so some help accessing with step by step instruction would be nice. Also, I dont have a spare USB keyboard around, just a PS/2 one.

Is it as simple as plugging a USB keyboard in, causing it to override Retroarch loading? Need I press anything before it starts to load?

When you see the boot menu, press Tab to edit cmdline. Go to the end of the line and append tty retroarch=0, you should boot into a terminal.

“Once the system is booting, you will not see RetroArch launching. It’s normal, since we disabled retroarch service. You then need to switch to tty3 by hitting CTRL + ALT + F3. You will get a command prompt and be able to type commands.”

You should be able to get the IP of Lakka by typing ifconfig then press Enter to validate the command.

If you need more help, please come to our irc channel.

Does it have to be a USB keyboard? I tried using a PS/2 but it doesnt work. The boot menu is the black screen with white text that says syslinux?

I forgot you already installed it, I was thinking you were using live mode. You need to get access to extlinux.conf and for that you will need live usb to edit it

You are sure your PC is well connected by ethernet ? You should be able to access it by ssh. Can you try to make a scan with this software maybe to be sure ?

hi, i know it has been to long but, you should change the Ethernet cable or so because lakka has DHCP active by default and if everything is ok it has to have a valid IP, so i recommend that you check the cables, hope its already solved
