Problems with saved states

Hello, I installed Lakka a few weeks ago and I am very impressed how well everything works. I am having one major issue which I cant understand how to resolve. When playing a game and I want to save the state I hit the XBOX button and select Save State. When I die and try to go back to my state (XBOX button --> Load State) sometimes it will work and other times I will get a Failed to Load state or it will load a state from hours earlier. I also notice when saving or loading states that the State Slot seems to change from time to time during the game. I see there is a newer version out but I didn’t see anything in the bug tracker about this so I’m thinking I’m just doing something wrong. If so is there any documentation on this or can someone tell me how to correct this? Thanks

Probably you have save state auto index enabled

Save State Auto Index is off under General Settings. All configs should be default from install.

I’m going to do a fresh install of the latest version and see if I get the same issue.

Try this: each time you’re going to power off your NUC, use the Quit RetroArch entry first, to force writting all to the disk, then use the Shutdown entry.

We noticed a problem with the Shutdown entry, sometimes it will shutdown the computer without letting enough time to RetroArch to save all settings and saves.

After doing a fresh install of the latest version (20151125102217-r21205-g3c89451) everything is working as expected. There now seems to be a display to show current slot and so far it has saved and loaded from default slot 0 with no issues.

This problem was happening during game play, never turned the NUC off. I would hit the middle XBOX button to bring up the menu and select save/load state. After 10 or so loads I would either get a Failed to load state or even worse it would load a state that was saved hours earlier. I did notice when saving state the slot would change from time to time and I believe this was causing the issue. I’ve played all day on the latest version and didn’t have a problem all day. Seems to be fixed

Wow, I’m glad this is already fixed because this look like a very difficult bug.

First of all, sorry for posting this in such an old topic, but I can’t manage to create new topics just yet

I’m having trouble trying to save states on my Lakka 1.6.9. There aren’t any options on the game Quick Menu where I can load/save states. Do I have to enable something special to get that, could I have some sort of read-only state on my RPi3 or something else that could be blocking those options to appear?

I’ve checked that User Interface > Quick Menu > Show Save/Load State is enabled.
