Query: Custom playlists; ROM detection parameters

I’ve just installed the latest version of Lakka. Really loving it. So easy to set up!

I’ve got two things I’m stuck on at the moment:

[ol] [li]Getting MAME / FB ROMs to appear - I’m not sure how to make a custom playlist.[/li][li]Getting PSX ROMs to appear. I’ve noticed only certain file types are found (.ISO)[/li][/ol]

I’m hoping I won’t have to convert my PSX collection to one file type (although my OCD would approve, lol).

Can anyone help?

One other question:

If I change the button mapping for a core (by running a game, returning to the lakka menu, then changing the settings in Core Remap Options), the changes only last until I restart the Pi. After that the button mapping changes back to default.

How do I get these setting changes to stay permanently?

My button mapping is perfect for all systems except PSX, where my controller’s A button is mapped to Circle :S

Hello, to make custom playlists, copy one from the playlist directory and see how they are done.

To save mappings, try to use the Quit RetroArch entry, we noticed a bug in the Shutdown entry, sometimes it will not let enough time to RetroArch to save its settings.

Tried heaps of things (restarting Retroarch, rebooting, doing so before closing the game and after) but the button mappings wouldn’t stick.

What worked was saving the remap file, then choosing the option to load the remap file for the core.

Any tips on how to get the ROM scraper to look for different file types? EG I have many .BIN and .IMG PlayStation games that aren’t detected currently.

I’ve also got some PSP games that simply don’t show up - is that because the scraper doesn’t recognise them?

I wrote a script just a couple days ago to scan any arbitrary dir and create a playlist from the contents, including sub dirs. Details in http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4549

I intended for it to be used with roms for only a single core, but it may provide a good starting point for further manual editing of the playlist it generates. Or if you pass only the first two command line args to my aforementioned script, retroarch tries to detect the proper core (which didn’t happen for my Atari 2600 roms, but your proverbial mileage may vary).

About remappings, try this: Go to Settings, Configuration, Enable Load Remap Files Automatically.

Making good progress on playlists now. I’ve gotten the hang of manually adding items that aren’t detected by the scraper.

Now I’m working on a new playlist just for Final Fantasy titles. It’s really cool. Thanks to the PSP emulator, I can finally round out my collection on the Pi2.

Question: How do I assign dynamic wallpaper and icons to this custom playlist?

In your <dynamic wallpaper directory>, have a Final Fantasy Collection.png Same for the icon, in the <assets directory>/xmb/png/

I suggest you to copy the whole themes from the read only partition to somewhere on /storage, so you can add and remove files as you wish.

Update: Got it all working  Here’s a photo:

Beautiful !
