Question about 8Bitdo controllers

Hello all. I see that among the autoconfig files for controllers for lakka on Github, there are config files for the 8Bitdo NES30 and NES30 Pro gamepads. I also saw a support discussion from several months ago where people were trying to pair the NES30 controller with Lakka via Bluetooth, without success.

My question is, was this problem resolved, so that it is possible to utilize the 8Bitdo gamepads with Lakka via Bluetooth? Or are the config files available only for using the controllers with a USB connection?

Greatly enjoying Lakka and while I appreciate the seamless support for my wireless Xbox 360 controller it just doesn’t have the right feel for playing these older games, and the 8Bitdo gamepads look to have the ideal blend of retro feel with modern features and solid build quality.

Going to bump since I’ve been wanting to buy a Bluetooth retro controller as my 16FT USB extension cord to my Retropie is somewhat obnoxious… I don’t mind spending the money to have the USB versions of NES/SNES. Maybe Genesis eventually as well.

I’m someone new to the Lakka world, but I have a good background in Electronics and I work in IT, so if I can get the basics I can fiddle and get stuff down.

Just recently got the NES30 Pro, and it works pretty well over USB, I have noticed a bit more input lag compared to 360 controllers (might have to do with the ARM chip in the controller). Haven’t gotten a bluetooth dongle yet, but planning on trying that next.

If you get it up and working, or have issues I’d like hearing about it. When I can afford to spend the money I plan on getting these set up, but I’d like a good starting blueprint so I don’t have to spend days/weeks on it. I never have that much free time! :slight_smile:

So I got an ASUS BT400 but so far have been unable to get it set up. Going to keep working on it though.

What have you tried estenmar? Maybe some screenshots and errors will help us troubleshoot with you.

I own ALL of them! (I seel them on a shop) but I haven’t tried in LAKKA, what are the exact issues you have? They work fine in windows and ubuntu with both USB and BT, you just have to upgrade to the latest firmware and use joypad mode (you actually need to upgrade the firmware to have this on the non-pro)

With the current fw, both USB and BT mappings on the pro are the same, and the dpad is no longer just keyboard arrows on the non pro (boot with START + R)
