Question about LAKKA, FBA and rPi3

Hi, excuse me if I write here but I really can’t find an answer in the (well-written) documentation.

I’ve just downloaded stable Lakka for rPi 3 I[/I].

I’d like to know which version of Final Burn Alpha (libretro FBA?) is included in this image, and which type of romset shoud I use (v0.2.97.38 ?). Thank you very much!

Hi scandy, that section of the documentation is undergoing revision. From what I can tell, the FBA 0.2.97.38 ROMs to use as of the current nightly Lakka build are a Split set.

That being said, I have just created an issue to see if RetroArch could add playlist support for the Non-Merged FBA set that is in circulation. If that is something you are interested in you, may stop by the github thread: https://github.com/libretro/libretro-database/issues/248

If you have a Non-Merged set presently and also have access to that set on a Windows PC I can share a playlist generating script that will manually create a playlist for the ROMs you are trying to use.

Hi Mark and thank you very much for your feedback. I’m not an expert but actually I have a full (split) romset for FB Alpha 0.2.97.37…will it work with Lakka? It’s not clear to me which FB Alpha version is included in latest release. And if I put the ZIP files in the “roms” folder and start the scanning process, will Lakka recognize them as FBA roms?

Thank you

The current FBA version for RetroArch is 0.2.97.38.

If you are on the most current version of RetroArch and its database, and if the FBA ROM set did not change much between .37 and .38, then most of those ROMs will probably appear via the scanner.

Great! I still haven’t a rPi 3, can I do a test of this FBA on my rPi 1 with latest version of Lakka for this system I[/I]? (games will run very slow, I know)

Thank you very much.

I am pretty certain that the scanner should work the same with the rPi1, yes.
