Questions about Lakka + Raspberry Pi 1 + CRT TV

Hi, Lakka is running on my good old Raspberry Pi 1. I know it isn’t powerful enough for “modern” systems, but my goal is simply to enjoy Genesis and NES games (and maybe a couple of old MAME titles) in low-res on a old CRT TV. So, here come the newbie-questions:

  1. Lakka outputs my rPi in 720x480 via composite cable. I like it (I get yet stable 60fps for NES and Genesis with vsync enabled) but it is technically possible to make Lakka - rPi output a lower resolution like 320x224?

  2. Can you give me an example of how your ROM folder is organized? (zipped roms, subfolders?)

  3. (difficult one) I know RecalBox can run some IREM games like Undercover Cops in Mame with audio (actually they are without audio emulation in MAME 0.37b). It is possibile to do the same in Lakka? If yes, how?

Thank you!

1.) not through the composite output, no. If you get an hdmi to vga adapter, you can get “240p” out of the hdmi port and then convert the VGA signal to whatever else (component/YPbPr is an easy conversion).

3.) I would try it with mame2003-libretro first.

Thank you. About mame2003-libretro, it’s a core yet included in Lakka?

Good question, I have expanded the wiki page to answer it. Could you check this out and see if you have remaining questions about ROM organization? https://github.com/libretro/Lakka/wiki/ROMs-and-BIOSes

Wow this wiki is looking great. I was just there yesterday and today it looks transformed. So much new and helpful information. Thank you for adding to it.

Thanks! There have been a couple of people working on it. I refer to the wiki often, so I’ve just been trying to hit ‘edit’ whenever I’m looking at a page and notice an area for improvement.

Wow, just perfect! Thank you!
