Raspberry Pi 2 - Best Core Settings for Nintendo 64?

Hi,

With regard to using the Raspberry Pi 2 to emulate N64 through LAKKA has anyone worked out what the most effective Mupen core settings are for performance.

I did read in another thread that the GLN64 graphics plugin is the most efficient but I have had no luck with this as when I use this I have missing bitmaps and random missing polygones in the game.

I have found that using glide64 is acceptable on some games but on others I get heavy flashing that makes the game unplayable (Well not without causing siezures anyway).

Note that I have not overclocked the build as yet but from experience with the RPI 1 overclocking doesnt really get you much.

Has anyone had any success with Mupen on the RPI2? And if so whould you be so kind as to post your core settings here?

Thanks,

Keith.

I think Rice is the highest-performance plugin, but it can be crashy for some people and is the least accurate.

The current state of mupen on the pi 2 is that only glide64 doesn’t crash. One month ago, gln64 was running full speed.

That is a shame as this would make the build I have complete.

Is there no way of reverting to an older core for N64 on the PI2? I am presuming that it is core updates that have caused it?

I have a suspicion that there are memory issues too as when I have been experimenting with the core settings on occasion I come out and find the LAKKA menu icons corrupted. Though this does clear up with a reset.

Even without the N64 I am very impressed with the work. A good all round emulation console for when I am camping

Thanks.
