Raspberry Pi 5 - 2GB, no boot

I have a Raspberry Pi 5 - 2GB, official cooler, official powersupply and 64GB Sandisk ultra SD card.

When booting, there is no HDMI output and the fan stays at 100% percent RPM. I tried the following things, all without a positive effect:

  • Write SD card using Balena Etcher
  • Write SD card using RPI imager
  • Plug HDMI into another screen
  • Plug micro HDMI into the other HDMI port on the Raspberry Pi
  • Flash “Lakka-RPi5.aarch64-5.0.img.gz”
  • Flash latest nightly “Lakka-RPi5.aarch64-5.x-20240723-e2c1b74.img.gz”

Additional information: Raspberry Pi OS and Batocera do work. So the Pi/SD card are working as expected.

Does anyone has an idea? Is it that the 2GB is so new, that is not officially supported/tested yet?

I can confirm that my acquired RPI5 - 4GB does boot with the same peripherals.

So it looks like Lakka is not yet compatible with the 2GB RPI5 yet.
