Renaming Arcade games?

I am playing with my Raspberry Pi 2, have it overclocked now and it runs most Arcade games well (Aside from Simpsons, X-Men, Alien Vs Predator, couple others it runs in a really off color mode. May be the rom, trying to solve this problem first though…).

The problem is I’m an organizational nut… and I want to sort the games in this format:

00(Number of players the game supports) XX(The type of game) The Name Of The Game

Here’s my issue: When I rename the Arcade games they do not work. Do they have to be a certain name, or possibly is it because I’m putting a space in the name that the arcade games become broken?

You can’t rename arcade ROMs in the filesystem, but once we get collection scanning implemented for them, you’ll be able to rename them in the playlists.

For the wrong colors thing, is that using the FBA core? If so, is it only Konami games? If it is the Konami thing, it’s a known issue that has been fixed in git, so it should be resolved in a future update.

Oh. Okay, so that makes sense now. Maddening, but makes sense!

Yeah, I looked up all the games in question have been Konami games so I’ll just have to sit tight and let the people who know what they are doing work at it.

Is there another core I can load to bypass the color issues?

There are currently 2 FBA cores, and I don’t think the old one has the konami color issue, so you could try it in the meantime.

I think that color bug has been fixed. It should be fixed in lakka nightly builds.

The color is fixed in the latest nightly, except you cannot Scan the arcade to have a menu to scroll to on the top like you used to have. Also, there is no shutdown button. I’m pretty big on destroying SD cards already, so this kind of puts me off for right now. I’m getting used to the new GUI but troubleshooting things on the Pi is kind of sketchy as its corrupting SD Cards, and every time I turn it off and on I have to hold my breathe and hope it doesn’t corrupt.

I’m pretty happy with where its heading and its exciting to get all these great features coming out way! Also, I can get together a bunch of 4 player arcade parties now… At this rate I’m going to need more Pis as I need to support more than 4 people!

Ok, I will add back that shutdown patch.

Hey Hunterk, quick question: You said once we have a scanning system, well there is a pseudo scan system in the nightlies at the moment, though it will only Scan NES/SNES/Genesis to my knowledge, but Atari/Arcade are the only other two systems I currently work with. Where do you go to rename these playlists?

In the playlist directory.

I added back the shutdown entry in the build of yesterday.

I noticed, thanks so much. It works really well, I’ve kept all my settings after shutdown. Thanks a lot for your work!
