Resolution not supported

This is probably more of a TV issue, but thought I’d ask if anyone had the issue here.

I have the machine connected to my TV, Lakka install. When I power on my machine, I see the BIOS startup, but then nothing, and then a message on my screen that says resolution not supported.

I don’t have this issue when connected to a PC monitor, nor either of my other TVs.

I can at least get into RA by changing video_fullscreen_x = “1920” and video_fullscreen_y = "1080 from their defaults. When I try to run any game, black screen and the error message.

The kicker here is that this did work before. It was about a week when I last played it and had no issues whatsoever.

I even tried a brand new live install on a USB with no previous setup and still no-go.

TV is a Samsung QN65Q7FAMFXZA with a firmware update completed in August.

Thoughts anyone?

Hello, is your TV 4k?

Hi Demetris, it is indeed.

I was doing some testing, and my graphics card may be faulty. The reason I believe so is that when I just used the onboard/integrated video on the motherboard, I was no longer having issues.

I will be doing some further testing with another card in its place, but that’s where I am now. If you have any other suggestions, or want me to test anything in particular, I’ll be more than happy to do so.

Samsung 4k panels have this weird behavior especially the recent models > 2017. Will switch out the panel after the bios is shown. I had to put in the drawer a perfectly working HD4870 after i switched to a 4k samsung panel my self, every other firmware update i did things were getting worst vs better.

Well, as it turns out, the graphics card isn’t bad. I tried it in my PC, and no issues. I tried a different card in this retro box build, and it worked fine.

Maybe that card (RX 560) can’t drive the 4K display for whatever reason (my PC doesn’t have a 4K monitor) even though it worked before.
