Respect subfolders within the /ROMs folder?

Hello there,

I discovered Lakka like a week ago and it seemed like a good determination for my old laptop. So now I’m running a multiconsole (linux version) and I’m having lots of fun.

I have one question though. I’m sure there is an answer somewhere… I did a search on the forum for ‘folders’ but I couldn’t find a thread an my specific question/issue, also: I’m still trying to figure out all the features/options of Lakka/LibRetro/RetroArch. Bth. I’m not even sure if I should post my question here or in one of the RetroArch threads

Finally to my question.

I got several systems running Atari/NES/SNES/GB(C/A)/PS… What I did for convenience is to create sub-folders within the /roms folder. Is there a possibility to actually make the system recognize/respect those subfolders. The PS-games (cue/bin) get recognized and therefore displayed for like every 3rd system/core (3DO/DS/SEGA MS/PC Engine/ …).

TLTR: How to make a PS-game (cue/bin) only show up for PS?

Thank you, and sorry if the questions has already been answered multiple times and I’m just too n00b to find/recognize/understand it,

Thank you, Stuben

As far as I have learned/read from the documents, the only way right now is making sure the roms for every console have a console specific extension. So for me, if I happen to have a .bin romlist, itll show for all the emulators that support bin files, which is no good. so what you’ll have to do is switch files over to a different extension so that they can be properly sorted (not really sure if there is another extension for ps files though :frowning: )

This page has more information about it: http://www.lakka.tv/doc/ROMs-and-BIOSes/

.bin and .cue is indeed a tricky example since .cue is a valid extension for 3DO, PC-FX, PC Engine, PS, MS/GG/MD/CD+GX and Sega Saturn. .bin is a valid extension for Atari 2600, Atari 7800, Odyssey2, N64, GBA, PS, MS/GG/MD/CD+GX and Sega Saturn.

Makes things/collections quite confusing tbh

Guess I’ll have to study some more documentations then. Thanks for your reply!

You can try the nightly builds. There is a new rom scanning system. Use the “Add Content” menu entry. And for undetected roms, you can write the file manually or using scripts.
