Retro Achievements Username and Password won't save

I try entering my Retro Achievements username and password through the menu in Lakka with my keyboard, it won’t type anything in, so I try using the alternate method of editing the retroarch.cfg file through SSH:

Alternate way - Editing retroarch.cfg

Access Lakka shares - http://www.lakka.tv/get/windows/rpi/install/first-boot/games/ Navigate to Config Folder -> retroarch-> retroarch.cfg Right-Click retroarch.cfg, and open the file with (Windows Users Notepad or Notepad ++) At the bottom of the file add cheevos_username = “Username you wrote down” and add a second line cheevos_password = “Your Password” Save the document In Lakka go to the main menu tab and “Quit Retroarch” Once back to the main screen, go back to accounts like stated in the first tutorial. Check to see if your Username and Password are now filled in. Go back into Settings, and make sure Retro Achievements are both set to ON. Enjoy, and start unlocking Achievements.

But every time I save the file and then quit retroarch as said in those instructions, the config file will erase my username and password every single time that I’ve tried. Am I doing something wrong here? I use Bitvise SSH Client.

This method used to work when I did this before on older Lakka versions, but not anymore. Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks

You need to quit RetroArch before you start editing the config. If you quit after it’s edited, RetroArch will overwrite your changes with whatever settings it has in memory.

I quit RetroArch first like you said and then rebooted after editing the config file. It finally saved my username and password for the retro achievements.

Thanks

We need to fix that bug in Lakka. They keyboard stopped to work in the menu. It works as a gamepad, where the arrows and X and W are OK. But We can’t type anything like / to search.
