RetroArch Wii/Gamecube Releases (v1.0.0.2)

It’s out when it’s out, it’ll be soon I’m sure, but I hope people remain patient

Honestly, I’m mostly excited just to read the change log when the new version hits. It’s been a long time (development wise) since the Wii has seen a new version, so I’m interested in seeing what has changed/been improved.

You can already do this assuming by “crop” you mean shrink. All you have to do is use custom resolution and double the consoles’ original resolution for example if you are playing GBA set it to 480*320 with point filtering. I think GameGear already has its own way in the “core settings” option.

It doesn’t have the Option in the Core

Have a Option for Borders on Game Gear and Game Boy Games like on the Game Boy Player or even the Super Game Boy

Same with GBA Games

For some reason ive tried multiple versions of retroarch and when trying 2 load cps2 games i keep getting exception (dsi) occured error… Is there any fix for this…btw im running retroarch on a platinum s-video/composite only gcn

Maybe it’s for GC limited memory

well with the 0.9.9 version i was getting the error for both cps1 and cps2 roms but when i tried .0.9.8 i was able to get cps1 to work but not cps2 (still same error)

Controls - I love the Input Option …But

For Master System, NES, Game Boy, Game Gear - Config Multi Buttons like

Master System I - Y II - B TI - R

or Just add Turbo for any button

Another Suggestion in Input Options

on left where buttons A, B, Y, X, L, R

It’s good for SNES, NES & Game Boy

For other Systems like the Genesis

A, B, C, X, Y, Z, Mode

SMS I, II

TurboGrafx II, I

and so on

On Wii or Gamecube?

All CPS2 games work on Wii in latest version. Ensure that you have the correct core selected and that you have the correct Final Burn Alpha roms matching the version number displayed at the bottom of your screen on the core name.

gamecube

Ah right, if you have the correct roms then it’s probably a lack of RAM on the Gamecube, which is an issue that can’t be resolved unfortunately.

Just play it on the Wii, Better

Is it true that making a generic ARAM ROM cache we can run all of those games that cannot actually run because lack of RAM? I do not know a thing of programming, so I do not know how we can run Turbografx and PS1 games without lack of ram. As I stated I do not know about programming but I am curiuos if it exist even decimal possibility of making these cores to work on gamecube .

The people who said that never produced anything (I know about the forum and I know who suggested it). And they have had over half a year now to do something.

We need people who code instead of talk - and people who release sourcecode of their forks of OPEN-SOURCE, GPLED SOFTWARE instead of hoarding it on a private server and some private repo. Unfortunately there has been very little of that amongst the GC/Wii people.

Just a little request

For the controls:

Map the Menu Button as Z + Start on the Gamecube Controller. I play mostly with the Super NES Controller using the SNES to GC/Wii Adapter or my Hori Digital Controller

Also a Screen Size Option for GB, GG, GBA Games - I really don’t like playing Games full screen

I’m trying to load RetroArch for the first time on my Wii U. I’ve installed the HBC, and successfully run USB Loader GX as well as a couple other programs. I downloaded the latest Wii version directly from the website. When I try to load RetroArch though, the screen just goes black. I’ve checked, it doesn’t generate the config files. Is there something I’m missing?

If using SD, check card is not locked phisically.

This happened on my Wii the first time I tried to use Retroarch. I fixed it by formatting my SD card with SD Formatter.

Could someone kindly explain the Hard GPU sync setting for me, and what the choice of 0 to 3 frames selection does. Thank you.

That’s there for the other OpenGL-based ports. It doesn’t have any effect on GC/Wii.
