It will be better by the time it’s out
I’m having this odd layer issue, whenever the game uses a fade-out transition there’s always a graphic that gets ignored. Suffice it to say that it doesn’t happen in VBAGX, Mednafen or any other emulator. *This happens on both the current official release and the unofficial build.
Hey, i just tried that ‘‘beta’’ version’s VBA core posted above and VBA is indeed faster now, at least Metroid Zero Mission doesn’t stutter anymore. Nice work! I also noticed no mame core, so i guess this means it will be postponed for a release later than 1.00 on Wii? Or is it scrapped completely?
Why would it be scrapped? They said it’ll be out when it’s out.
Has the 6 button pad on the mednafenpcefast core been added?
We never confirmed the MAME core for Wii. It would take too much work to get it working on Wii and we will just get complaints that not every game works because games will have to be cut to make it fit into RAM.
MAME might come in the future, but the Wii is just not built for it.
That’s a pity.
Well, It is a pity indeed. But no problem! We can do a lot of things already with the current cores. My only and one worry is abut being able to have different screen setups for each different core. And yet better if it could be possible to have different parallel setups of R.A. in the SD card. (To be able to fix the already arising problem of NEO-GEO having two different video sizes, unfortunately is exists and it will plague my life… oh man!) =)
Thanks Mr. Toad. C.
In the Beta
Did they add Screen Size Option for the VBA and the Gambette Cores?
Perhaps if you could explain what you are even asking for - since it doesn’t really make sense to me.
From what I remember, the Wii already had the custom ratio options in the last release which allow resizing. I find these a little unintuive to use, but it should work.
Is the “crop overscan” supposed to be available by the next update?
That option would really be useful when running GBA games at full screen horizontally, as well as running NES games at 640*480 without black bars; like Kirby’s Dream Collection does.
But stretching NES games to 640480 will not produce image “artifacts” and distortions? If you even change from 512448 to 513*448 we got a VERY noticeable artifact already…
“Rename all your PAK files to upper case and rename all your mission pack folders rogue and hipnotic to lower case. This allows it to work on PS3/Wii/PC/XBOX and Android.”
This was said back in June but the fix doesn’t appear to be consistent. I did it to an exact tee (i re-checked like 15 times) and it worked for hipnotic the first time but when i chose rogue it crash dumped. I went back and tried hipnotic again and it just kicks back to the homebrew channel now, neither will boot. It’s especially unusual considering i’ve deleted all my configuration (even the core configs) files and the problem stays exactly the same. Is it a file size issue?
Let me know if you need a pic of the crash dump, i can’t do it right now but later/tomorrow i can.
Would it not be 512*480?
Regardless the correct resolution; I was trying to give an example why the crop overscan would be a very good option to have. It was mostly for GBA games which currently look like a window-boxed square.
Hi all, does anyone know how to activate “2 players mode” in games like tmnt, sunset riders or the simpsons?
Tested all three games there and simply pressed the buttons to insert coins for players 1 and 2 and pressed start on both.
Yes, actually it is for 4 players, but there are 2 player versions of those games that allow you to choose your character. On mame there are parent roms and clones and in FBA for windows this subdued roms appears down the original. But in retroarch I don’t know how to load them.
You should be able to download those child roms and place them in the same folder as the parent roms, once you select them from the menu in RA, it should load that version.
Yeah it works! I was using a diferent rom name for the clone. It’s different from mame but the PC version of FBA shows the correct name. Thanks.
